Boat handover went very well. Very professional firm. First stop was Audlem. There's a guy at Audlem bottom lock selling loads of fresh food. Forty-three flavours of sausage. What a choice. Then at the top lock we met a lady selling fresh baked scones. Rain set in now. We're moored for the night at Market Drayton.
Wonderful flight to work. Got me to wondering what happened to lock keeper Bob Shephard whom I met a number of years ago. I understand he's now retired. He was a great ambassador for British Waterways
We moored at Market Drayton for the night. Our original plan was to moor at Betton Wood and have a barbeque. it was a tad too windy and so we elected to go to a canalside pub in 'Drayton'
It all lies before us |
Super shop at Audlem bottom lock |
Shropshire Fly pub |
Still on the Audlem flight in the long pound leading to the last two locks |
en-route to Market Drayton |
Nice pub by the canal - good food and plenty of it |
